At today's meeting, July 25, 2024, we were honored to host our District Governor, Ed Boeve. He shared with us his "magical" vision for our district and what we can do to meet the Rotary International's goals set forth for this year: increase membership!
Membership growth is necessary in continuing Rotary International's mission. Often times, when discussing being a part of Rotary, people ask, "What is that?". Rotary International is dedicated to promoting peace, education, health, safe water, sanitation, hygiene, protecting the environment and economy. Their Mission Statement and Vision Statement are:
Mission: We provided service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
Vision: Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change--across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
At the local level, our club has provided the band shell in Siren used for the Music in the Park on Thursday evenings throughout the summer. We have worked with schools tutoring children. Our latest projects, in conjunction with Grantsburg Rotary, have been to provide AED's to each Burnett County squad car (completed), and, currently, AED's for each Burnett County fire department and Grantsburg/Siren/Webster schools for athletic events.
Please reach out to our local club, Siren/Webster Rotary, if you are interested in becoming a member. We can be contacted through the website and our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61557467286226
